A Guide to How to Make Gold for Beginners

How to Make Gold for Beginners

How to make gold is one of the biggest and best lessons you will need to learn if you are playing World of Warcraft. You do not want to pay a fee to walk around broke in a virtual world. Just as in the real world, you must know how to support yourself and be able to pay for the things you want to get.

If you have done much online besides click from page to page, you have probably heard of add-ons. Add-ons are usually small programs designed to make whatever you are doing on the computer a little bit easier. World of Warcraft also has add-ons. If you want to learn how to make gold, go and search out an add-on to help you in the Auction Houses.

You will need to pick a profession as you begin playing World of Warcraft. As a new player, you are more limited than you will be later. A gathering profession is usually a good choice for a beginner. Production professions will be a better option later, when you have moved up through the levels.

As you move through World of Warcraft and complete quests, you will be killing animals. Many people choose skinning as a profession for this reason when they start out in WoW. Mining is also a popular choice for those at lower levels.

Once you have moved up to a higher level, grinding for gold becomes an option. This is the point where you may want to consider looking at more advanced guides directed toward how to make gold. As your level increases, the cost of things goes up and you will need to know more about how to make gold if you are going to get what you want.

Learning how to make serious gold is a subject only mastered by few people. There are new guides popping up all of the time promising to tell you the "real" secret. There are a few of these guides worth studying, but many of the rest are garbage. Do yourself a favor and read some reviews before making any purchases.

Some people are tempted to buy gold for use in World of Warcraft. A huge industry has popped up around this market. There are even sweatshop like "gold farming" operations in parts of the world. Just be aware that buying this gold could get your account closed. Check the game's terms of service.

It is important to know that there are services on the internet that offer to sell you World of Warcraft accounts that have already been built up to advanced levels. These companies will also happily take your money. Once again though, review the terms of service before spending you money on these. You could lose your account along with the money you spent. If you want to learn a lot and advance quickly, you can spend hours reading free tips or carefully choose a well put together guide. I recommend a quality guide to help you learn how to make gold.

Gold Farming

What is Gold Farming?

I want to say a little about gold farming. Now, that term is used in the game to describe the rather boring process of doing mundane tasks to accumulate gold. Not the most efficient or fun way to spend your time and if you are looking to learn how to make gold, you probably don't want to spend countless hours doing this. Like I said before, if you want a job, go get one.

That leads me to the other meaning for gold farming. There are actually people who work in sweatshop type environments over in China and in some third world countries who farm gold all day long as a way to stay alive. (I'm writing this for newbies, so if you know this, deal with it). These companies then re-sell the gold to buyers from more affluent parts of the world. These buyers are basically people who see the trade off in time saved as a good deal for what they receive for their money.

I'm mentioning gold farming for a couple of reasons and I'm not getting into sweatshop ethics. There have been a few articles popping up recently, or maybe I just happened to come across them, related to gold farming. If you are a new player you may be tempted to buy some of this gold. Hey, do what you want, but you should be aware that it could get your account suspended or terminated. If you want to roll the dice, that's up to you. But the WoW powers that be do not like the practice.

Personally, I won't buy the third world gold farming product. I'd rather make gold myself. It feels a little like cheating to me (but that is just me so don't get yourself in a twist if you happen to be a gold buyer). I don't really care what you do with your own account. People wear clothes made in sweatshop conditions all of the time. Gold farming is just making big news now because the online gamers taking advantage of it are a huge market and the money they are spending caught the eye of some "hot news" type bloggers.

If you do want to learn about how to make gold in the most efficient manner, there are about a thousand guides out there. You can find some decent information for free, but it could take you a while. You can also buy a how to make gold guide that is designed to show you how to make gold quickly. Just an FYI, many of them are garbage. I've gone through some of them and I'll save you some trouble. I didn't write any of these, they are just the most popular and they are probably the most popular because they are some of the best:
1. World of Warcraft Gold Secrets

2. Zygor In-Game Alliance & Horde World Of Warcraft 1-80 Leveling Guides

3. Dugi's Ultimate World of Warcraft Guide

4. Warcraft Millionaire

Like I said, there are a lot of other how to make gold guides out there but these are probably the most popular. If you want to read more, here is a link to a site with some gold guide reviews.

How to Make Gold

How to Make Gold

OK. So you want to learn how to make gold. If you don't have gold, the honest truth is, you will not enjoy playing this game as much as you could. Gold is what makes things go around in World of Warcraft. If you go into the game with the mentality that you'll never be rich, guess what? You'll spend your time broke. Like I said in my first post, playing this game as an individual with no money is just silly. Think about it. People pay money to play a game where they constantly struggle to get by and then feel like a failure. Yeah. That sounds like fun. If you are happy being a lowly grunt, well, I just don't get you to be honest.

Playing World of Warcraft is quite a bit like life in the real world in some ways. On one hand, you will have people who are happy to complain about their lot in life and then do nothing about it. Know anyone like that? On the other, you will have people who look for the best ways to capitalize on every opportunity. These people also tend to be able to see opportunities better than most because they have the right mind set. They can also see the value of things in the longer term instead of just what is right in front of them.

There are a lot of very cool strategies that can be used in this game, but for right now, let's just talk about going to the Auction House. Have you ever checked out eBay? If you take the time to look at some of the goofy stuff that sells on there for outrageous prices, you know that buying and selling at auctions is a game in itself. In World of Warcraft, you will want to use some eBay type strategies. It will keep boiling dow to this: Buy low and sell high. That makes sense, doesn't it? Just like people go out and buy other people's cast off stuff at estate and garage sales and then sell it for big bucks on eBay, you can learn to do the same thing playing WoW.

If you are just buying and selling things for the same price, well it's about comparable to kissing your sister. You completed the transaction, but it's just not the same as actually getting something done. OK, that didn't sound right, but you get the idea.

If you are taking this slow and easy, I'd recommend doing a little observing of the auctions to see what you can learn. I'll post more about that coming up. If you can't wait for my schedule to allow that, I'd recommend checking out the How to Make Gold site. There is some good info there and some reviews of how to make gold guides that weed out the junk that is floating around the internet. Stop back soon.

How to Make Gold - Welcome

I've been spending a lot of time playing World of Warcraft and I've picked up a few tips and tricks about how to make gold that might be useful to beginners. I told a couple of friends that I'd put this together for them, so bear with me since I don't plan on making it a major project. It should be useful though.

If you are going to move up in this game and get characters to level 80, you will eventually hit the point of wanting to make the most of your time. If you're like me, you hit that point about 30 seconds in to the game. I don't like wasting time. The last thing you want is to make playing WoW like going to a job. If I was playing day after day and living a virtual life being broke, I don't know that I'd keep playing for too long. What is the sense in that?

Honestly, I don't quite understand why people actually buy gold. I invested in a couple of how to make gold guides that helped a lot and cost a heck of a lot less than paying for gold. To each his own I guess, but I personally have no need to pay for gold, and I haven't even been playing that long. I'd just rather play smarter.

This is just a hello post really, but I'll throw out some links later to good places to find guides so that you can avoid paying for junk. Stop back soon (or just check for new posts now) and we'll get you started on learning about how to make gold.
